Thoughts on compounding personal growth

My skill and my power have been growing and compounding as I figure out and instrumentalize the key mechanics of more and more domains. My built up knowledge and skill is cohering into a fully-general process for orienting, acting, and surmounting obstacles.

I’ve figured out a lot about how to learn, and how to work extremely hard (effectively), and how to work with teams, how to design functional systems, how to unstick my own hangups and stuck blockages. My financial wealth is compounding. I’m learning how to model politics, to do high-integrity coalition building, to effect changes to the world at scale. My ethical principles are deepening and becoming more systematic. I’ve learned to have conviction and when to bet on my contrarian views.

Those all stack geometrically. And they all unblock and accelerate additional progress.

Most people stop growing after they’re in a comfortable niche. I haven’t and I don’t think I will.

I expect to learn much more over the next decade than I did over the the last decade, because I’m better at learning now. I expect to become much more powerful and effective over the next five years than I did over the last five.

It feels pretty amazing.

If AI progress stopped here, I would be so awesome by the time I’m 40.

But AI progress probably won’t stop. The human era is likely to end soon.
